Athlete Matrix Mastery Camp – baseline strength, power, speed, agility and conditioning levels tested for ALL Edge Rep Athletes

All 2018/19 Milton Edge Rep Team athletes participated this past weekend in The Athlete Matrix’s Mastery Camp. As Reid Hall, Director of Strength and Conditioning Training at The Athlete Matrix shares, one of the best ways to build a strong culture and cohesion as a club of teams together is to train together.

All Edge Rep athletes were assessed and screened to identify movement restrictions and areas of potential injury. They were put through a series of tests to identify their baseline strength, power, speed, agility, and conditioning levels. The tests were specific to high level volleyball, including vertical block height, vertical hit height, max arm reach. Baselines were recorded so that progress can be tracked, as the athletes move week to week through their series of strength and conditioning sessions. Beach Volleyball Olympian Martin Reader also started the athletes off in their personal development + life skills + mentorship to increase the athletes self awareness, speaking on nutrition. Their Off Ball Athlete Training with Martin will start with their Off Ball app this week.
